Tarot card reading is a part of a divination art called cartomancy in which a reader uses cards as tools to gain insights, guidance and advice. The craze of tarot card reading is increasing enormously day by day with the coming generation.

Trisha Rai is one of the diviners who have been reading the cards for the past 12 years and the past 2 years professionally. In Conversation with her, She tells us how her love for divination began, “My interest in spirituality, occult, magic, and mysticism was ever since I was an adolescent. One of my cousins introduced me to tarot and that was when I was drawn to it.”

She learned tarot card reading through books and the internet. The first time Rai picked the cards, right away she knew that she would need a lot of learning and practice. As she loves reading, whenever the new tarot book is out in the market, she purchases it immediately.

According to the diviner, “In a tarot reading, the other person’s energy is channeled and through their guides and the universe we seek guidance and advice.” Tarot card reading involves a part of astrology as each zodiac sign is seen in the major arcana of the tarot cards. Tarot and astrology are similar, nevertheless, it is not the same. They both could be used together to get more insight into a reading.

“Most of my clients come in search of answers and clarity. After the session, they are not only fazed by accuracy and feel lighter, having found what they were seeking and looking for also makes them happy”, adding further.

Rai’s family and friends have been amazingly supportive and they are the one who pushed her to pursue tarot reading professionally. They even ask to pull out her cards when they feel stuck in their thoughts or are in a dilemma. Reading for her parents makes her happier.

More than predicting the future, reading them might help you figure yours out as it provides you with guidance and influence for your thoughts. It tells us stories about cycles of our lives and ways we could live them better. It’s not like the stereotypes one sees prevalent in pop culture.

For ones who want to pursue tarot card reading, Rai explains, “Firstly, be prepared to learn everyday and not to give up as there is no shortcut to it. From dedication to being compassionate, you have to give it your all.”

“If you have the determination and dedication, then anyone can be a tarot card reader. They should also have patience in understanding what they do, and should know that they’re here to help and to heal”, she adds.

“Clients come to tarot readers when they’re low and need answers. You would be dealing with others’ energies that is why a reader should have the ability to be compassionate, empathetic and patient, and should be cautious”, she adds more.

Shuffling the deck, picking out cards and then laying them out in order reveals what different series and anguish one might face during any given journey. However, the reader and methodology they use to interpret the way the cards interact might be different.
