Roads of Kathmandu during the monsoon

The monsoon rains always create havoc on the streets of Kathmandu every year. It is also a season whereby one can actually gauge the quality of the infrastructure in the valley and also get an inkling of the country’s planning mechanism. 

With the continuous downpour since the last few days the roads in Kathmandu have become waterlogged and commuting has become an ordeal for both pedestrians and vehicle owners. One has to be cautious whether walking or riding a two-wheeler or driving a four-wheeler. Roads are covered with mud and construction materials and many are littered with potholes. 

If you are not careful you never know you might just be the next road casualty.
