Bulgarian customs officers at Sofia Airport have seized 450 liters of liquid methamphetamine, the National Customs Agency (NCA) said in a statement on Wednesday.
The illicit drug filled in 450 bottles placed in 30 cardboard boxes came last Thursday as a cargo shipment from Mexico, the NCA said.
The recipient of the consignment was subsequently identified and arrested, the NCA said, adding that he faces up to 15 years in prison.
Searches were carried out and documents, mobile phones, and other evidence were seized, it said.
Authorities estimated that the value of the methamphetamine on the black market would exceed 6.5 million U.S. dollars.
