The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has urged the government to make arrangements for performing the final rites of those Nepalis, who were killed in the Russia-Ukraine conflict, as per their religions, cultures and traditions by bringing their dead bodies at home.

The NHRC has also asked the government to take effective measures to repatriate Nepalis through diplomatic channels and ensure treatment for those injured ones in the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

Issuing a press statement on Sunday, NHRC Spokesperson Dr Tikaram Pokharel has asked the Nepal government to provide relief and compensation to the families of those killed and injured ones as well as to ensure safety of the Nepali citizens by controlling their journey to the foreign jobs through illegal routes in future.

The NHRC has stated that information from different sources have been received about the recruitment of hundreds of Nepalis into the military services of Russia and Ukraine and some of the Nepalis were killed from the attacks of Ukrainian forces, leaving few others injured.

The NHRC has shared it was the government's duty to safeguard the human rights of Nepalis wherever they are and carry out rescue operation.
