More than one million Covid-19 infections were reported in the United States on Monday, according to Johns Hopkins University.
In the last 24 hours, about 1.07 million new infections have been confirmed in the United States, making it the worst case of the coronavirus surge in the world.
The average number of new COVID-19 cases has doubled in the last seven days to an average of 418,000 per day.
However, the rapid spread of the virus has not only put more strain on the country's healthcare system, but it has also once again hit the economy hard, leading to labor shortages, thousands of flight cancellations, and forced some businesses to close their doors again.
