More than 664,000 vaccines have been brought to Nepal on Friday. Surendra Chaurasia, head of the supply management branch of the health service department, said that 664,650 doses of Pfizer vaccine were received this morning under the COVAX facility. The government has made public the schedule of Pfizer vaccination against adolescents in the age group of 12 to 17 years in 8 districts including Kathmandu Valley and in the remaining 12 districts within a few days.
Nepal had received 100,620 doses of Pfizer vaccine through the Covax facility in late October. Initially, the vaccine was made available to chronically ill patients over 12 years of age who had missed out on the vaccine.
Adolescents in the age group of 12 to 17 will be vaccinated in Jhapa, Morang, and Sunsari of Province No. 1, Saptari, Dhanusha, and Parsa of Province No. 2, Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur, Kavre, Chitwan, and Sindhuli of Bagmati Province, Kaski and Baglung of Gandaki Province, Rupandehi, Banke, and Dang of Lumbini Province, Surkhet in Karnali, and Dadeldhura & Kailali districts in the far western states.
