Himalaya Airlines Pvt. Ltd. took action to enforce its CSR operations in the healthcare sector as part of its commitment to achieving its primary CSR purpose of societal responsibility. Zhou Enyong, President of the Airlines, presented a 2-ton standing air conditioner to Samden Lama Chairperson and Dr. Kailash Kumar Bhandari, Medical Director of NDA-Nepal Orthopedic Hospital, during the handover ceremony held on July 16, 2023. The air conditioner was put at the hospital's Sagarmatha General Ward, where underprivileged patients can get reasonable service fees for high-quality orthopedic therapy. The ward, which serves patients from low-income families, is situated on the hospital's top level, where patients and members of the medical and support staff frequently encounter hot and muggy weather. Installing the air conditioner has brought much-needed respite and improved the ward's atmosphere.

President Zhou Enyong visited the Sagarmatha General Ward after the handover ceremony to assess the working conditions. The ceremony took place on the hospital grounds. Mr. Enyong said, "Himalaya Airlines promises to use its best efforts to uphold its duty to be present in society, in addition to aiming to offer progressive growth to Nepal's aviation industry. The Nepal Orthopedic Hospital's efforts to provide the poor with high-quality care should be strengthened by our little donation, I hope. He also mentioned Himalaya's pledge to provide a set amount of the proceeds from its in-flight magazines to an orphanage for kids run by representatives of the Nepal Disabled Association.

In his heartfelt thanks to Himalaya Airlines, Dr. Kailash Kumar Bhandari remarked, "We highly appreciate and acknowledge this humanitarian and generous work of Himalaya and we are obliged with Himalaya Airlines for a great start for collaboration with Nepal Orthopedic Hospital."

In the ongoing alliance between Himalaya Airlines and the Nepali medical community, the occasion represented a critical turning point. Vero cell vaccines, COVID-19 essential medical equipment and supplies, such as ventilators, PCR testing machines, infrared thermometers, PPEs, and surgical masks, have all been provided by the airline to various hospitals, NGOs, and healthcare organizations in Nepal during the challenging COVID-19 pandemic. The airline's persistent commitment to the welfare of society further demonstrates its basic principles and loyalty to the Nepali community and its citizens.

In August 1998, NDA - Nepal Orthopedic Hospital was founded on the grounds of the Nepal Disabled Association (NDA) at the Khagendra New Life Centre in Jorpati, Kathmandu, to guarantee and meet the demand for high-quality orthopedic care at the lowest possible cost and to provide assistance to those in need. It is the first and only charity, non-profit hospital in Nepal, providing free care to patients who are impoverished or have limited incomes.
