The National Trauma Centre is being run as a COVID-19 dedicated hospital in line with the government's decision.
The Centre's director Dr Santosh Poudel said the Centre has been operated as a COVIDI-19 hospital for treating coronavirus infected people. The Centre had only treated the Covid-19 patients last year also during the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The 50-bed health facility will be run in its full capacity of 200 beds until Wednesday. Dr Poudel said the patients being treated for injuries and other patients at the Centre would be shifted elsewhere and the facility would be fully run as a COVID-19 dedicated hospital.
The Centre has 10 ICU chambers and 200 beds. Poudel added that additional ICUs and ventilators would be managed at the Centre.
Seventy persons infected with COVID-19 are being treated at the Centre now.
