Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has urged all the citizens to cooperate and help the government in its efforts to fight against the coronavirus pandemic. While addressing the special session of the House of Representatives today that has been convened for the vote of a confidence motion against him, the prime minister has urged all to join hands in dealing with present crisis brought about by the COVID-19.
PM Oli mentioned that like the rest of the world the Nepali government too was doing its best to stop the spread of the virus in the country. He mentioned that the government has been going all out to prevent the spread of the coronavirus and also for the treatment of those who have been infected with the contagion.
He appealed to all that the time now is to put aside all the differences and unite in the fight against COVID-19. “However, we have not been able to still grasp the severity of the situation and are still embroiled in petty politics,” he added.
The prime minister also stated that the government has been focused on earnestly dealing with the current crisis and in other developmental works yet had been facing a lot of criticism. He regretted that he along with the government had been often blamed for being involved in corruption during the procurement of medicines.
PM Oli also said that if the government finds any person involved in corruption during the procurement of medicines then stringent action will be taken against the concerned person. “The government at present is involved in establishing more hospitals and adding more beds for the treatment of patients infected with the coronavirus,” he added.
