Girja Dagaura of Bhimdatta Municipality-17 of Kanchanpur has cultivated paddy. But he has not been able to bring in the crop after the unseasonal rain damaged it.

"We didn't cut the rice this time because of the rain. When it rained for four or five days, it affected the harvest," he said.

Garib Khuna, a farmer of Bhimdatta Municipality-17, said that after the rain damaged the crops, there is a shortage of grain. "The ripe rice has been washed away and only straw is left, now what are we going to do?" Rajni Dagaura complains that they have not yet received relief and compensation despite the damage to the paddy field. "We noted down the details of the damaged rice, we hoped to get compensation, but we didn't get it," he said. "When will the government listen to the farmers' pain?"

"The ripe rice has fallen in the fields due to floods, the rice has rotted and completely perished," said Lok Bahadur Badaik of Lalzhadi rural municipality-3 Nandgaon. Haridatta Joshi, information officer of Krishi Gyan Kendra Kanchanpur, said that despite the initial information about the damage, the complete details of the damage have not been received.
