People's lives in the mountainous and hilly areas of Karnali have become difficult due to snow and rain since Tuesday night. Snowfall in Upper Dolpa, Central Dolpa as well as upper areas of Jajarkot's Barekot and Rukum West's Athabiscot Municipality. Other Himalayan districts of Karnali, Mugu and Humla have also been experiencing snowfall for the past few days.
Phone service in most places has also been affected due to the weather. According to the local police office, activities in the district have been halted since this morning. People's lives are affected by the snowfall.
In the upper part, people's life has become difficult due to continuous snowfall, said Jayakrishna Hamal, a teacher at Dolpa Kumli School. The municipal level education unit has said that it will be difficult to open schools as it is very cold. Transportation services have also been affected due to regular rains.
