Due to floods, the rice crop in Sunsari has been severely damaged.
According to the Agriculture Knowledge Center, Inaruwa, Sunsari, the district headquarters, Inaruwa, Dharan, Itahari, Ramdhuni, Barahkshetra, Koshi, Bhokraha Narasimha, Harinagar, Devnaganj, Varju, Gadhi and Duhavi have also suffered severe damage.
Nunulal Urao, chief of the Agriculture Knowledge Center, Inaruwa Sunsari, said that more than 20,000 hectares of paddy fields in the district have been damaged. He informed that more than Rs 200 million has been lost in the district mainly in paddy, and vegetable crops.
He informed that more than 3,000 hectares of land including fields of vegetables, bananas, sugarcane and cauliflower were destroyed in the flood. The floods and inundation have also damaged vegetable crops in Dharan, Itahari, Ramdhuni, Inaruwa, Barahkshetra, Koshi, Bhokraha Narasimha, Harinagar, Devanaganj, Varju, Gadhi and Duhavi.
