Locals kill leopard

Locals have killed a leopard that attacked people in Kyakmi Kotthok village of Harinas Gaonpalika-6 of Syangja.

According to local Resham Gotame, the locals attacked the leopard this morning when they tried to chase it away. According to him, another local, Durga Bahadur Gotame, first spotted the leopard and tried chasing it away.

However, the leopard retaliated and larger group came to Gotame's aide, who is currently injured from the leopard's attacks. Gotame suffered injuries to his ears, head and hands. He has been rushed to the local health post for further treatment.

According to District Forest Officer Hari Bahadur Thapa, the leopard was a female. He also revealed that the leopard was 1.6 meters long, 52 cm tall and weighed 15 kg.
