As many as 1,600 Nepalis aspiring to go to Israel in foreign employment have been selected.
The Department of Foreign Employment (DoFE) has submitted a list of 1,600 Nepalis who have completed all the selection processes.
The DoFE has decided to submit the list of applicants comprising 70 per cent of women and 30 per cent of men who have completed the interview and health checkup process to the Kathmandu-based Israel Embassy, said DoFE Director General Deepak Kafle.
Out of 6,317 candidates, 2,039 — 1,395 females and 644 males — had passed the written test. The written test results were out on September 28. Among the candidates who passed the written tests, 186 people were disqualified in the physical tests based on height and weight.
Likewise, the interview of those who passed also the physical tests concluded on Saturday. The list of 1,600 workers includes 1,000 carers permitted to work in Israel in association with Israeli companies.
It will cost Rs 65,000 to each Nepali migrant worker going to Israel on foreign employment under the Israeli government quota job. Under the quota, the migrant workers have to work 42 hours per week. The Nepali workers will get the all facilities as per the Israeli government. The workers will earn almost Rs 200,000 per month.
