The government has given permission to 110 hotels to provide quarantine facilities for people who come to Nepal from abroad. According to the Department of Tourism, 27 hotels registered at the department and 83 hotels registered at the Valley Tourism Office of Bagmati Province have been granted permission to provide quarantine facilities.

The Department of Tourism has submitted the list of hotels that have been given permission for quarantine facility to the COVID-19 Crisis Management Centre (CCMC).

The department has mentioned the list of hotels that are allowed to provide the quarantine facility includes five-star hotels, resorts, and even tourism standard hotels. Previously, the department had not given permission to hotels in Thamel to provide the service citing that the area was densely populated. However, hoteliers in Thamel opposed this decision and this time hotels in the area have also been included in the list.

The five-star hotels that have been given permission are Hyatt Regency Kathmandu, Soaltee Hotel, Kathmandu Marriott Hotel, and Hotel Radisson. Similarly, Gokarna Forest Resort, Club Himalaya (Nagarkot), Summit Hotel, and Airport Hotel have also been given permission to provide the quarantine service.

The cost of the quarantine service has to be paid by the travellers availing the facility.
