17 still missing in Kalikot, two more bodies retrieved

Seventeen people have still been missing in landslides and floods in Kalikot while bodies of six have been retrieved.

According to the District Police Office, Kalikot, two bodies were retrieved from the landslide debris on Thursday.

The deceased are Dhrubaraj Bista of Talaguppa municipality-7 and his daughter Jyani Bist. The landslide on Sunday buried five in the Bista family and among them, to date bodies of four have been recovered, according to District Police Office, Kalikot's information officer police inspector Shubharaj Bam.

Similarly, the whereabouts of 13 people of Ranchuli village of Tilagupha municipality-4 who had gone missing in the landslide are still unknown. They were buried by the landslide at a time when they were heading to attend a funeral procession.
