At a press conference held in Dhanusha today,  Dr. Binay Shah, Chairman of the Binaytara Foundation Cancer Center (BTFCC), said that BTFCC would build a state-of-the-art cancer hospital in collaboration with the Vinaytara Foundation (USA).

Dr. Shah informed that preparations have been made to lay the foundation of the cancer hospital in Janakpurdham. He also informed that the first president of Nepal, Dr. Ram Baran Yadav, would inaugurate the hospital.

Dr. Shah said, “The hospital building is designed by Fong & Chan Architects, based in San Francisco, USA. Their latest design is to enhance the efficiency of the hospital. We will have a 100-bed building by 2025. ” Dr. Shah informed that local supporter and social worker Binod Thakur had donated part of his own land for the construction of the hospital building.

BTFCC aims to serve about 25,000 patients annually. In the past, many of these patients had to travel eight hours or more for cancer treatment. Due to lack of resources for such travels, they could not get any treatment.

At present, BTFCC has a 25-bed hospital in Janakpurdham. The hospital's services include medical oncology, surgical oncology, head and neck cancer surgery, laboratory, pharmacy, emergency room, radiology, histopathology, ICU and anesthesiology.
