The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) Tuesday reported 260 new cases of coronavirus infection in Nepal. The addition of new cases has taken the country's COVID-19 tally to 278,470.
Likewise, the three districts of Kathmandu valley has reported 149 new cases of coronavirus infection — 108 in Kathmandu, 33 in Lalitpur and eight in Bhaktapur — in the last 24 hours.
As many as 113 patients of COVID-19 have recovered in the past 24 hours. With this, a total of 273,455 persons infected with coronavirus in the country have recovered as of Tuesday. At present, the recovery rate stands at 98.2 per cent as per the data released by the MoHP.
The nationwide death toll from COVID-19 has remained 3,036 since no death from the respiratory contagion has been reported in the past 24 hours. Presently, there are 1,979 active cases in Nepal.
Earlier, the MoHP on Monday had reported 266 new cases of coronavirus that had taken the nationwide tally to 278,210.
More than 131.88 million people have been reported to be infected by the novel coronavirus worldwide while at least 3,001,210 people have died from COVID-19, following an outbreak that started in Wuhan, China, in early December, a Reuters tally showed as of 3:12 pm on Tuesday, April 6, 2021.
The World Health Organisation referred to it as a pandemic on March 11, 2020.
