33 parties bond in Bagmati confiscated

In Bagmati Province, 33 political parties' bonds have been confiscated in the elections held for the Provincial Assembly on November 20. In that election, 35 political parties participated directly and 40 proportionally.

Election Commission Secretary Gokarna Mani Duwadee informed that 33 political parties' bonds were confiscated. A closed list of 588 male and 80 female candidates, 668 and 754 proportional candidates, who participated in the provincial assembly elections, was established.

A total of 484 candidates, including 417 men and 67 women, who received less than 10 percent of the votes, have had their bonds confiscated.

According to the election results report prepared by the Commission, 7 political parties have been represented in the Provincial Assembly towards proportional election system in Bagmati province. One hundred and ten people, 70 men and 40 women, have been elected to the state assembly.

For the State Assembly Member Election, there were 34 lakh 71 thousand 492 voters in Bagmati Province, including 17 lakh 33 thousand 378 women, 17 lakh 38 thousand 87 men and 27 others. Secretary submitted the report of the commission to Bagmati Province Chief Yadav Chandra Sharma today.
