Four succumb to COVID-19 in Kanchanpur, Taplejung

Four persons infected with COVID-19 died in Kanchanpur and Taplejung districts on Friday night.

Among the four deceased, three of them were from Kanchanpur and another one from Taplejung. The deceased was a 52-year-old man and a 48-year-old man from ward no. 18 and 14 of Bhimdatta Municipality in Kanchanpur district respectively. They died during the course of treatment at Mahakali Hospital. Likewise, a 68-year-old man from Bhimdatta-18 succumbed to the viral infection in home isolation, said the police.

Likewise, 33 people entering Nepal from neighbouring India through Gaddachauki and Gauriphanta transits have been detected with the virus. They tested positive for the virus while 284 antigen tests were conducted on Friday.

Similarly, a COVID-19 infected woman died in Taplejung district. The deceased has been identified as Bhakti Maya Tumbahamphe of Phungling Municipality-5.

Tumbahamphe was admitted to Birtacity Hospital after she suffered from heart problems. She had tested positive for the infection on Thursday during treatment. The hospital on Friday discharged her asking her family to put her at home quarantine facility, said Chief District Officer Umesh Pandey.
