654 Nepalis flown home from Afghanistan

After the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan, a total of 654 Nepalis have been rescued and repatriated.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has said that more Nepalis are being repatriated from Afghanistan after their rescue.

In course of the rescue, 39 Nepalis arrived in Kathmandu in a flight of Fly Dubai on Sunday night and seven from Turkish Air, and 104 from Qatar on Monday.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, 361 more Nepalis have registered their details in the web portal of the Department of Consular Service till Monday evening for the rescue and repatriation.

Of the Nepalis who came in contact so far, two Nepalis don’t have their passports and arrangements have been made to issue travel documents, Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Sewa Lamsal said.

The government has already formed a task force to rescue and repatriate Nepalis stranded in Afghanistan after the recent political developments there.

The rescue operation has taken place on the basis of the registration of the stranded Nepalis in the web portal and their details given by the Nepali Embassy in New Delhi and other sources.

Similarly, one can contact mobile numbers 9749326458 and 9749326459 through Viber and WhatsApp for rescue. Friendly nations have helped in the rescue of the stranded Nepalis by sending their flights to Kabul.
