Experts on foreign affairs, and political leaders have stressed the need for implementing 'one window system' while dealing with sensitive issues of political concern and foreign relations.

Prof Dr Mrigendra Karki said all sides concerned should have single stand rather than blaming each other. The agreement on Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) was botched up, he reminded, adding that State Partnership Program (SPP) forwarded by the US government too has arrived in the same condition, he added.

According to him, it was due to problems in internal management.

Prof Karki was saying it during a programme organized by Madan Bhandari Foundation on 'Current Diplomatic Practice and Its Impact' in the federal capital on Saturday.

Currently, SPP is a heated debate among public, political circle and in parliament as well in Nepal.

Dr Karki further said earlier questions were raised only on political parties while the Army has faced the question at present. So, new foreign policy is imperative, he added.

Nepal's foreign policy is committed to panchasheel principles and non-alignment. Except UN call, it is clear that Nepal does not take side of any military alliance.

Another Prof Kadga KC argued that political parties showed weakness in a way or other in terms of SPP.

Former Ambassador Narad Bhardwaj made aware that Nepal should not be ensnared in the trap set by international forces.

Lawmaker Bimala Rai said 'one-window system' should be adopted while dealing with such sensitive issues of international relations and political concern. She worried why the Nepal Army did not inform the present government about the SPP.

Human rights activist Sushil Pyakurel demanded that political leadership must come up with clear stand while the army produced different statements relating to SPP.
