Bagmati State Assembly: Two meetings held today

Two meetings have been held today under the tenth session of the state assembly which started on Friday. In the first meeting held today, the principles and priorities of the appropriation bill for the coming fiscal year of the state government were discussed.

In the meeting, the members of the Provincial Assembly as a party participated in the discussion on the principles and priorities of the Appropriation Bill and 28 state assembly members had expressed their views.

Members of the ruling coalition Narottam Vaidya, Nakshe Narayan Shrestha, Vijula ​​Burma Rana, Bhimsen Khatri, Vijaya Shrestha KC, Sita Adhikari, Prem Bahadur Pulami (Chintu), Bhavana Subedi, Hiranath Khatiwada, Radha Ghale, Rajendraman Shrestha, Shobha Shakya, Viraj Bhakta Shrestha, Meena. Gyawali and Munu Sigdel alleged that the principles and priorities of the budget brought by the government had succeeded in covering the issues of the people and that the CPN (UML), which had been leading the government for a long time in the past, had opposed the government.

Similarly, Kailash Prasad Dhungel, Keshav Prasad Pokhrel, Junelimaya Shrestha, Pradip Kumar Katuwal, Narayan Silwal, Maina Achhami, Saresh Nepal, Saraswati Basnet, Sita Lama and Shanti Prasad Poudel of the main opposition party UML accused the previous government of cutting the plans. He said that the principles and priorities of the Appropriation Bill brought by the present government are no different from those of the previous government. He said that the present state government has not been able to address the problems and sufferings of the people.

Similarly, members including Ramesh Poudyal of Vibekshil Sajha said that the five-year journey of the government should be reviewed. Stating that the budget expenditure should be reviewed rather than the priority of the budget, he accused the state government of discriminating in the pre-budget for the coming fiscal year.

Ministry of Economic Affairs and Projects Shalik Ram Jammakattel replied to a question raised during the discussion on the appropriation bill brought by the government in the second meeting of the state assembly.

Minister Jamma Kattel said that the government has formulated its principles and priorities by bringing policies and programs and budgets that will be implemented targeting the people. He said that the suggestions received during the discussion on the appropriation bill would be included in the policy and program.

Speaker Sanu Kumar Shrestha announced that today's meeting of the Provincial Assembly has been adjourned till 2 pm on May 30. According to the Provincial Assembly Secretariat, Bagmati Chief Yadav Chandra Sharma will present the policy and program for the coming fiscal year on behalf of the state government in the meeting.
