Kidney survivors are facing trouble in dialysis in lack of blood at Kidney Treatment Centre in the Damauli Hospital.

Blood shortage has been surfaced since blood donation programmes are not taking place in the district due to coronavirus pandemic and subsequent prohibitory orders. Kidney patients requiring dialysis have been hit hard in lack of blood.

The dialysis patients are forced to arrange blood on their own. In-charge of Kidney Treatment Centre Shailendra Pandit shared that blood shortage was surfaced at the centre for no blood donation events due to enforcement of prohibitory orders.

“There used to be routine blood donation programme. But now problem has come to a fore due to unavailability of blood for treatment”, he said, adding the patients are obliged to find blood on their own.
