Sagarmatha Pollution Control Committee collected 18,080 PET bottles at waste management facility at Namche Bazaar in this spring 2023 season. Committee preventing them from ending up in the dumping pit. The PET bottles were shredded, packed in a bag and transported with support of volunteers through the “Carry Me Back” Program for recycling in Kathmandu.
Carry Me Back program will start again in autumn trekking season.
