There is shortage of cetamol medicine at pharmacies in Bhaktapur. Although the demand for cetamol has increased due to the increasing number of fever and cold patients, there is a shortage due to lack of supply. Rudra Neupane, a pharmacy operator in Bhaktapur, said that the demand for cetamol was high but the supply was almost zero.

Chief District Officer Rudra Devi Sharma said that there was a shortage of cetamol in Bhaktapur. After widespread complaints of lack of cetamol, the administration said that there was a shortage while monitoring 20 drug stores in the main market areas including Suryabinayak, Kamal Binayak, and Dudhpati.

He said, "There have been a lot of complaints. We have visited more than 20 drug stores and found that there is a real shortage of cetamol." He informed that the Department of Drug Management has been asked to understand this. Medical Superintendent of Bhaktapur Hospital, Dr. Sumitra Gautam, said that there was no shortage of cetamol in Bhaktapur Hospital. He said, "Our hospital has cetamol. Even now, the hospital's pharmacy has 4,500 cetamol medicines. It is also in the store. Bhaktapur Hospital is giving free cetamol to the patients coming to its hospital as per the recommendation of the doctor."

Stating that there may be a shortage of cetamol outside due to the increase in fever patients, he said that more than 700 patients come to Bhaktapur Hospital daily for services. He said that more than 250 of them are suffering from fever.

Corona-infected patients are also being added and hospital beds are being filled.

Dr Gautam said that 85 percent of the PCR tests performed daily by the hospital were positive and 65 percent of those tested on Sunday showed corona infection.
