The weekly fair launched by the Industry Association Chitwan has attracted consumers. The fair is conducted at Chitwan Exhibition Centre every Saturday.
Association Chairman Trilochan Kandel informed that the fair was launched to promote the products of local entrepreneurs and farmers. The fair runs from 6:00am to 11:00. As the fair came up with five editions, more than 15,000 people visited it. Similarly, it witnessed the transaction of over Rs 3 million, according to Chair Kandel.
The commercial stalls beginning with 39 have now reached 66 with growing popularity. The credit to the rise of mart goes to the growing number of visitors.
The Association is aware of maintaining the quality of the products. The fair has fresh products ranging from bamboo shoots to asparagus and pineapple. It is said such an event also helps boost the economy of backward communities while reaching fresh and quality products to consumers' kitchens.
Vice Chairman of the Association, Madan Pokhrel, said the fair was organised both for consumer's health and marketing of products. It is being expanded gradually.
Khemraj Neupane, who has been running a commercial stall of honey, observed that such a fair is a tremendous opportunity for farmers and small entrepreneurs. He urged all sorts of farmers to participate in such an event.
Similarly, Pramesh Bhandari, who arrived here from Bharatpur Metropolis-12, to observe the fair also commented that the fair had fresh and organic products, which are good for our health.
The products on sale are vegetables, fruits and dairy items.
Consumers these days are attracted towards organic products. ----
