Difficulty prevails in teaching-learning after landslide buries school in Parbat

A school at Thapathana of Phalebas Municipality-2 in Parbat district has been facing problems in conducting teaching-learning activities after landslide buried its two buildings.

The rain-triggered landslide occurred in the morning of June 29 had damaged three-roomed buildings. No human casualties occurred since the disaster hit while the school was closed, said Bishnu Sharma, the Principal.

Principal Sharma worried that teaching learning activities would be further affected adversely since there is likelihood of more disaster in this monsoon.

Since the school would resume after summer holiday, the school management is facing problems in arranging an alternative space for running teaching-learning activities.

Presently, there are a total of 438 students from grade 1 to 8 in the School that was established in 1956.

Both of the landslide-buried buildings were recently built.

Phalewas Municipality Mayor Gangadhar Tiwari inspected the landslide-hit school while the police have already readied the details of the damage which, Mayor Tiwari shared, would be sent to the Ministry of Home Affairs.
