The flood in the Kaligandaki River due to the incessant rain eight houses in Setibeni of Galyang Municipality-5 of Syangja district have been submerged. DSP Rajendra Prasad Adhikari, Spokesperson of the District Police Office in Syangja, informed that due to the flood in the Kaligandaki River at around 8:30 am eight houses in the locality got submerged.
Also 24 people have been displaced from their homes.
He mentioned that since the people were taken to a safer place earlier there was no loss of life though the houses got submerged. Adhikari also said that relief and rescue measures were being taken in the area in coordination with the locals, people’s representatives, and Red Cross.
Setibeni lies in the confluence of Syangja, Parbat and Gulmi districts and is located on the banks of the Kaligandaki River and Seti River. Whenever the water level in the Kaligandaki River rises the water level in Seti River also automatically increase, hence, Setibeni is always affected during every monsoon.
