The Finance Ministry has released additional resources for establishment of paediatric ICU and management of ICU ventilators for treatment of children and serious patients infected with COVID-19.
The Ministry today release funds worth Rs 1.41 billion to 41 different hospitals of the country. Those receiving the funds are government hospitals in Taplejung, Sankhuwasabha, Terhathum, Bhojpur, Khotang, Solukhumbu, Okhaldhunga, Rangeli, Sunsari, Sarlahi, who received Rs. 30 million each.
Likewise, hospitals in Bara, Ramechap, Dolakha, Ratnanagar, Bhaktapur, Rasuwa, Parbat, Syangja, Myagdi also received the same amount, along with the hospitals in Palpa, Rolpa, Prithivichand, Musikot, Mugu and Mehalkuna hospital.
According to the Ministry, the Seti provincial hospital receives Rs 60 million while Gajendra Narayan Hospital and Tulasipur hospital received Rs. 90 million and Bhaktapur hospital will receive Rs 120 million.
For ICU ventilators, the Dhulikhel hospital, Pokhara Institute of Health Sciences, the BPKIHS in Dharan and Lumbini provincial hospital and Bhim hospital will receive Rs 18 million each.
Furthermore, the Gajendra Narayan Singh Hospital, Bheri hospital, Dadeldhura hospital, Narayan hospital, Koshi hospital, Rapti Institute of Health Sciences, Karnal Institute of Health Sciences, Janakpur provincial hospital and Surkhet provincial hospital will receive Rs. 12 million each.
In Kathmandu, the Kanti children's hospital, Patan Institute of Health Sciences and TU Teaching Hospital receive Rs 30 million each. The Mechi hospital in Bhadrapur Jhapa and Dhaulagiri hospital received Rs. 6 million each while Seti provincial hospital, Mahakali hospital and Bharatpur hospitals received Rs 24 million.
The funds were provided as per the demand from the Ministry of Health and Population of COVID-19 prevention, control and treatment.
