The government is planning to change the modality of the prohibitory order after the current one ends at midnight on June 21. The previous order was supposed to come to an end at midnight of June 14 was extended by a week by the government. There have been some relaxations during the current prohibitory order but the government is planning to further ease the modality.

The meeting of the Executive Committee of the COVID-19 Crisis Management Centre (CCMC) held on Wednesday has decided to impose a ‘smart lockdown’ by maintaining the safety parameters but easing the production and supply of essential goods. The meeting has decided to take stock of the situation first and allow the operation of some sectors albeit with strict health safety protocols.

However, the CCMC has not mentioned which sectors will be allowed to open. But it has been confirmed that the modality of the next prohibitory order will be eased a bit more than the current one.
