Government to provide financial assistance to flood and landslide victims

The government has decided to provide financial assistance of at least Rs 2 lakh to the families of those who lost their lives in the floods and landslides.

Minister for Federal Affairs and General Administration, Rajendra Shrestha informed that the cabinet meeting held on Wednesday decided to give Rs 2 lakh the family of one person who died and Rs 1 lakh each for the death of another person of the same family.

The meeting held at Singha Durbar also decided to provide free treatment to the injured. Stating that the meeting decided to carry out the relief and rescue work in an effective manner, Shrestha said that all the state machinery would be mobilized for that.
