Construction of a municipal hospital building has started in Handebhir. According to the federal government's plan to run basic level hospitals in all the municipalities, a building is being constructed at Handebhir near the center of Mangala, Babiyachaur.
Engineer Sujan Poudel of Mangala Village Municipality informed that construction of two buildings in an area of 1,124.64 square meters has been started for the 10-bed capacity hospital. "Disability-friendly building with earthquake-resistant capacity with separate rooms for an emergency, inpatient, outdoor, laboratory, administrative, medicine storage and treatment is being constructed," he said.
A contract agreement was signed with Om Buddha International Construction Kathmandu for the construction of the building at a cost of Rs 1.1 million. The total cost of the building is estimated at Rs. 129.7 million. According to Chief Administrative Officer Manohar Dhungana, 35 rooms will be constructed in the two buildings. The foundation stone of the hospital building was laid by Sat Prasad Roka, chairman of the village municipality on December 3, 2077 BS.
Eight ropanis of land was managed for the hospital three years ago in the premises of Arman Health Post. Along with Mangala, Annapurna and Dhawalagiri municipalities of Myagdi have also started construction of basic hospital buildings. Dhawalagiri Municipality has started construction of hospital in Takam and Annapurna Municipality in Ward No. 1 Doba.
