IGP Singh pledges transparency in transfers and performance evaluation

Inspector General of Nepal Police Dheeraj Pratap Singh has said that policing in accordance with the policies and objectives of the Government of Nepal and the Police Organization under the prevailing law is the main task of the Nepal Police.

Speaking at the press conference held to mark 100 days of his tenure, IGP Singh said that every work of police personnel including transfer, promotion and performance evaluation will be done transparently according to the rules of the organization.

Stating that an action plan with eight goals for organizational reforms has been implemented, he said that for the growth and strengthening of the police organization, creative support, suggestions and coordination are always expected from the media in the coming days as well. "No one is above the law and if police personnel go beyond police conduct and professionalism, they will be punished."

Lauding the professionalism of Nepal Police personnel in the May 13 local level elections, he shared that preliminary work has already been started for the peaceful completion of the upcoming House of Representatives and Provincial Assembly elections.
