Madhesh Chief Minister Lal Babu Raut has said that private sector investment is needed to develop the country. Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the newly-elected office-bearers of the Saptari Chamber of Commerce and Industry at Rajbiraj today, he highly respected the private sector and said that prosperity could not come unless policies and programs were introduced according to them.

Stating that the state has not been able to pay attention to this, he said that there is a problem in running the industry as the private sector is not in a position to invest heavily in purchasing land. Stating that land can be made available on lease, he said that things like a subsidy for electricity and providing security in the area where the industry is run have been included in the act.

Chief Minister Raut claimed that Madhesh Pradesh would be number one in other areas as it was the first state in terms of population. He said that Madhesh Pradesh would be number one in terms of development, peace, security, and prosperity. He informed that the state government has already brought the industry act and the regulations will be passed within three to four days.

Speaking on the occasion, State Finance Minister Shailendra Sah said that the Madhes government was sensitive about the problems of fertilizer and irrigation. The newly elected president of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Lal Prasad Agrawal, presided over the inauguration ceremony.
