Food aid has been provided to 250 households in Simikot Rural Municipality-7 in Humla during this lockdown period. The COVID-19 Crisis Management Centre has imposed a prohibitory order for the third time after a surge in the number of COVID infections in the district.

Balibir Shahi, a resident of Dadafaya in the district, provided food to the people who are struggling during this hard time. Shahi on Monday provided two sacks of rice, one packet of oil, and two cakes of soap each to the poor and extremely vulnerable families.

Meanwhile, he also provided one sack of rice each to middle-class families and 15kg of rice, one packet of oil, and two cakes of soap each to the remaining households.

The assistance has provided some relief to the people of Dadafya village who have been facing problems in running their daily livelihoods. Many have lost their jobs due to ongoing prohibitory orders for the past two weeks.

He further stated that it is an honor to be able to provide help to the needy villagers in this time of crisis.
