Man held with 7.3 grams heroin in Jhapa

A man has been arrested with 7.3 grams of heroin in Jhapa Rural Municipality-2 in Jhapa district.

The arrested has been identified as Bishal Madi, a 32-year-old, a local resident of Jhapa Bazar in the district. Jhapa-based Area Police Office personnel nabbed him with the substance during a routine check.

Meanwhile, police arrested a youth in possession of 16.53 grams of heroin from Barhadashi Rural Municipality-2 in Jhapa district.

The arrested has been identified as Prashant Bikram Thapa (27), a local resident of Melamchi Municipality-6 in Sindhupalchowk district.

He was coming from India on a motorcycle with vehicle registration number ME 8 PA 164. Security personnel deployed from the Rajgadh-based Area Police Office nabbed him with the substance during a routine vehicle check.

Further investigation into the cases is underway, informed the police.
