MoHA urges not to encroach public land

The government has made it clear that any attempt to encroach on government or public land outside the legal process will be dealt with in accordance with the law. The Ministry of Home Affairs has issued a statement today urging all not to be involved in such illegal activities.

According to a statement issued by Dil Kumar Tamang, Assistant Spokesperson of the Ministry, the government has formed the National Land Commission on September 14 and started its work as per the provisions of the constitution and law of Nepal.

The ministry has mentioned that the commission is working to solve the problem of landless, Dalit, landless squatters, and unorganized settlers through the local level. The process has been taken forward by making special legal arrangements for the management of landless Dalits, squatters, and unorganised settlers.

The government is committed to providing agricultural land for settlement and livelihood by identifying the right to housing, the right of landless Dalits, and the landless squatters mentioned in the government's policy.

Stating that the government's serious attention has been drawn to the incident that took place in Motipur industrial area of Rupandehi district on Sunday, the Home Ministry has also paid heartfelt tributes to those who lost their lives in the incident and wished speedy recovery to the injured
