The Nepal Bar Association (NBA) has said that it was an interference into the jurisdiction of sovereign parliament with the act of rendering ineffective the letter to suspend Chief Justice Cholendra Shamser Rana. Issuing a press statement on Wednesday, Bar Chairperson Gopal Krishna Ghimire and General Secretary Anjita Khanal drew the attention of all bodies relating to Bar to not implement the letter which has been rendered meaningless.

Bar was in agitation for entire reform, cleanliness and strengthening of judiciary with the demand of resignation of chief justice for 109 days in the past. "NBA's attention has been drawn seriously against the letter issued by a parliament secretariat employee, seeking decision in the parliament by ignoring the principles and values of a sovereign parliament. It is the breach of parliamentary jurisdiction and sheer ignorance to official etiquette. Letter on suspension of Chief Justice Rana is rendered ineffective now," they said in the statement.

NBA seriously condemns the letter because it has violated constitution, act and parliamentary norms and values.
