Nepal records 177 COVID cases in 24 hrs

The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) on Tuesday confirmed the detection of 177 new cases of coronavirus infection. Out of which, 33 people have tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 in the antigen test.  With this, the COVID count has reached 980,590.

Likewise, the MoHP has recorded 0 new deaths from COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. The ministry on May 19, 2021, recorded 184 deaths, the highest daily number. As of Tuesday, the nationwide death toll from COVID-19 has reached 11,952. Presently, there are 873 active cases in Nepal.

Meanwhile, the three districts of Kathmandu Valley alone have recorded 90 cases in the past 24 hours.

As many as 41 patients of COVID-19 have recovered in the past 24 hours. As of Tuesday, a total of 967,687 people have recovered from the viral disease, the data released by the MoHP showed. Presently, the recovery rate stands at 98.8 percent while the fatality rate is 1.2 percent.
