Two parks have been constructed in Galkot municipality-7, Malma, Ramchedhunga and ward-3, Hatiya, Sahasradhara under the Gandaki Province Government’s ‘Urban greenery promotion and park construction’ plan.
The Baglung Division Forest Office had mobilized a budget of Rs 2.4 million for the construction of two parks. Local people also donated in-kind labour worth amounting to Rs 300,000.
Committee Chairperson Bishnu Thapa says the park was built stretching over eight ropani land in Ramchedhunga. The budget was mobilized to construct a 200-meter trekking route to reach to the park, entrance gate, a building with ticket chamber and a wash-room.
Saplings of various species have also been planted to promote greenery in and around the park. Locals have engaged their collective efforts to develop Ramchedhunga the best tourism destination.
Likewise, another park has been built on the Sahashradhara Fall Premises in Galkot. It has also contributed to augment ecological beauty of the area. Ward Chairperson Bir Jung Bhandari said trekking route to reach to the fall premises, pond, toilet, park construction and plantation of saplings have been built as part of the park construction plan.
