PM Oli submits written reply to Supreme Court

Says Supreme Court cannot appoint Deuba as prime minister

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli today submitted his written reply to the Supreme Court. The written reply was in response to the hearing that has been started on the writ petitions filed against the Dissolution of the House of Representatives and announcement of mid-term elections.

PM Oli has mentioned that the court does not have the right to appoint the prime minister of the country. One of the writs filed by 146 lawmakers of the opposition parties has urged the Supreme Court to appoint Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba as the prime minister.

Prime Minister Oli has further mentioned that as per Article 76 of the Constitution of Nepal only the president had the authority to appoint the prime minister of the country.

The prime minister has submitted an 18-point reply at the Supreme Court.
