Police recover firearms, ammunition

Police in Bhaktapur District on Sunday recovered five bullets of SLR rifle from Dakshinbarahi Temple area in Suryabinayak Municipality-4.

Security personnel deployed from Thimi-based Metropolitan Police Circle recovered the bullets from a chautara (a platform with a tree made for sitting). Police reached the site after locals repairing the platform informed police about the bullet.

Meanwhile, police in Dhankuta district on Sunday morning recovered a single-barrel loaded muzzleloader gun, a barrel of a gun without a butt, and a magazine of 20 rounds of bullets in the forest of Chihandada in Chhatharjorpati Rural Municipality-3.

A joint patrol team of security personnel deployed from the Biratnagar-based Province 1 Police Office and Dhankuta District Police Office recovered the firearms.

Further investigation into the cases is underway, informed the police.
