President and PM extend Christmas wishes

On the occasion of Christmas Day, President Bidya Devi Bhandari and Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba have extended best wishes to the Christians at home and abroad.

In her congratulatory message, President Bhandari expressed the belief that such festivals would help in enhancing the spirit of mutual harmony, tolerance and unity among the communities with diverse cultural identities and religious beliefs and would further strengthen national unity.

She said that festivals like Christmas Day would inspire Nepalis to move towards building a civilized society and prosperous Nepal by deepening the spirit of mutual trust, love and brotherhood.

Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, who is also the President of the Nepali Congress, said in a congratulatory message that festivals and culture have been important for building national unity and mutual harmony.

Nepal is a multi-ethnic, multi-lingual, multi-religious and multi-cultural country full of diversity. This diversity has been an important asset not only for Nepal but also for the world community.
