Deputy Speaker Indira Rana today suggested the concerned authorities to make Nepal's representation in the international forums more effective.
Talking to media persons in Singha Durbar upon her return home from Parliamentarians' Workshop on International Trade-2023 organized in Singapore from May 15 to 17, Deputy Speaker Magar suggested the government to do thorough homework for Nepal to shine on in the international forums.
Magar shared that she drew the attention of the participants in the event on the effects of climate change in the mountainous zone of Nepal, environmental conservation and carbon emission among others global challenges.
Nepal has been participating in such event since 2004.
Stating that it was important to educate youths from the developing countries about their countries' economy, she expressed her confidence that such events could serve as an important forum for experience exchange among the countries on the common issues such as quality infrastructures, transparency and equality.
While participating in the event, she shared, she felt that the political instability and corruption were impeding the exposures and opportunities for the countries like Nepal which is believed to soon graduate from the Least Developed Country (LDC) to the developing one.
During the event, she said that she floated the prospects of export of Nepali tea and coffee grown in the alpine climate of Nepal. Magar viewed that optimization of innovative technology, commercialization of agriculture would lead to job creation and increase in revenue collection, thereby contributing to overall development of the country.
Participating in the event held in Singapore along with Magar were parliamentarians Ambar Bahadur Raymajhi and Binod Chaudhary.
