Community schools in Myagdi has started physical classes almost after five months. Apart from the district headquarters Beni Bazaar, the schools in the rural areas have been conducting classes adopting health standards.
According to the concept of smart lockdown put forward by the government, the schools have started conducting physical classes.
As online classes are not effective in rural schools, the school has been operating classes following smart lockdown and seal the community to be safe from COVID-19. Chief Administrative Officer of Annapurna Village Municipality, Suran Sharma Poudel, said that the school is focused on risk and impact of infection.
As per the decision of the executive committee, all the 37 schools, including 10 secondary schools, have been reopened and three schools have been closed.
Most community schools in rural areas have low enrollment and have about 150 students in the secondary school.
Since there are no more than 20 to 25 students in a classroom, parents argue that it would be appropriate to open a school in an area where there is no active cases of coronavirus.
Mangala village chairman Sat Prasad Roka said that the teachers, students and the community have been instructed to stop the infection and start the study by maintaining distance and following the safety protocols.
He said that the number of students in the school is low.
