Self-review for Nepal Police is necessary: DPM Shrestha

Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister, Narayan Kaji Shrestha, has said it was necessary to move ahead by carrying out self-review so that police organizations could be more effective and successful.

Home Minister Shrestha said it while honoring the Senior Sub-Inspector, Purushottam Nepali, who successfully scaled Mt Everest marking the 100th anniversary of INTERPOL, at the Police Headquarters on Friday.

On the occasion, he viewed, "Police organization has to fulfill its responsibility by keeping the nation and people in the center. The government will be successful if Nepal Police carries out activities focusing itself on the service of the people and nation."

Senior Sub-Inspector Nepali climbed Mt Everest on May 16. A total of 195 countries are now members of INTERPOL. Nepal had decided to mark the 100th anniversary of INTERPOL with the Sagarmatha summit.

Congratulating climber Nepali, DPM Shrestha stated, "I want to congratulate Purushottam Nepali for allowing making Nepal Police and Nepal government proud."

He urged the Police organization to be aware that none of the accused would be spared and none of the innocent would be implicated.

The Home Minister mentioned that the government has been advancing corruption control and good governance effectively.
