Nepali Ambassador to Spain, Dawa Futi Sherpa, will arrive in Kathmandu this afternoon with the aid that the Spanish government has provided to the country. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, she will arrive on a charter flight at around 12 pm with medical aid worth Rs 140 million.
The aid from Spain comprises of medical supplies including ventilator, oxygen concentrator, and PPEs Director of the Spanish Development Aid Agency (AECID) Magdy Martinez-Soliman is coming to hand over the support to the Government of Nepal.
Meanwhile, Spain has pledged to support Nepal at the bilateral level, through the European Union, and through other platforms. In a telephone conversation with Foreign Minister Pradeep Kumar Gyawali on Wednesday, Foreign Minister of Spain Arancha González Laya said the assistance of Spain to Nepal will continue.
On the occasion, Minister Gyawali thanked Spain, on behalf of the Government of Nepal, for the generous healthcare support, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Spanish Minister Laya also lauded Nepal for its role in helping Spanish citizens return home amidst the lockdown.
