Police in Surkhet district on Thursday afternoon arrested four persons in possession of 2.140gm of heroin from Babai checkpoint in Bheriganga Municipality-5.
One of the arrested has been identified as Manoj BK (24), a resident of Birendranagar Municipality-10 while the names of the other three have not been disclosed.
They were heading from Nepalgunj to Surkhet. Security personnel deployed from the Surkhet-based District Police Office nabbed them with the substances and two scooters were also recovered from them.
Similarly, police in Kanchanpur on Thursday evening arrested two men in possession of 2.4gm heroin from Bheemdatt Municipality-2.
The arrested have been identified as Abhaya Singh (30) and Harish Bohora (30), both residents of the same municipality in Kanchanpur district.
Security personnel deployed from the Mahendranagar-based Ward Police Office nabbed them with the substances.
Meanwhile, Police in Bara district on Friday morning recovered 15kg cannabis from an auto-rickshaw with vehicle registration number NA 1 HA 6579 in Jitpursimara Sub-Metropolitan City-21.
The auto-rickshaw was heading towards Pathalaiya from Hetauda. When police from Amalekhgunj Area Police Office tried to stop it, the auto driver and the occupants of the vehicle fled after hitting the police motorcycle.
Two security personnel injured in the crash have been discharged after treatment from Simara-based Alpine Hospital. The police are looking for the absconding auto driver and other accused, said the police.
Meanwhile, further investigation into the matter is underway, informed the police.
