Morang police apprehended 3 persons involved in Hundi transaction from Biratnagar Municipality-13 on Thursday afternoon.
The arrestees have been identified as Shrawan Shah (25), Amrit Kumar Shah (33), residents of Biratnagar Municipality-13, and Jigyasha Chaudhary (25), resident of Rangeli Municipality-1.
Security personnel deployed from the Biratnagar Municipality-11 based Roadsesh Police Office nabbed Shrawan and Jigyasha during a routine check. Police officers also seized Rs 2.17 million, Indian Rs 23,000, six sets of cheque books including one of New Life Saving and Credit from their possession.
Security personnel also arrested Amrit who was allegedly involved in the activity. Police recovered two sets of mobile, cash vouchers, and deposit slips from his possession during further investigation.
As per the preliminary investigation, they were depositing money and sending the details through WhatsApp for the past two months, informed the Morang-based District Police Office.
They have been handed over to Sunsari Tax Investigation Office for necessary action, said District Police Office, Morang.
